Teevrat Garg, associate professor at the UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS), has been elected to the board of directors of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE), the leading professional economics organization working in the areas of climate change, environmental policy and energy transitions.

“I am honored to be elected to the board,” Garg said. “As a director, I am looking forward to working with AERE to expand the impact of our profession in policy making as well as increase equity and diversity in the organization.”

In his research, Garg works on a variety of issues in economics, with a focus on applications to environmental problems in low- and middle-income countries. His current research projects include uncovering causal mechanisms that link ecosystem health to human health and the distributional consequences of adaptation to climate change.
